Since its opening in Linn, WV, the Linn Pottery has been in business since 1979. Established and operated by Paul Latos, a native of Windsor Heights, West Virginia, and a Brooke High School graduate, the Pottery has relocated to Wheeling, West Virginia. The move is accompanied by a change in name to Linn Pottery Studio and Gallery, creating a unique center in downtown Wheeling. Over the past 30 years, Latos has produced functional stoneware pieces as well as uniquely-designed ornamental pottery. The recipient of several juried pottery awards, he has supplied valued pieces to over 125 shops throughout the United States. His work has been shown at the Greenbrier Resort and the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. He has provided his pottery to the Tamarack Center in Beckley, West Virginia since its opening in 1996, and locally at Oglebay Lodge and the Wheeling Artisan Center. His primary focus has been the production of functional and ornamental pottery, but Paul has a strong interest in teaching, having served as Adjunct Instructor of Pottery at Fairmont State College for twelve years. He received his B.A. in Art from Glenville State College and Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from West Virginia University. He has served on jurying committees with Tamarack. The move to Wheeling will allow for continued production of high quality stoneware and other ceramic items. Plans include creation of a gallery that will showcase his own work as well as that of selected artisans from throughout the United States. This location will provide for hands-on workshops by Latos and other craftspeople. He plans to offer personalized classes in pottery-making for beginners and those established potters who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills. The larger facility will also facilitate creation of a showroom for walk-in and Internet sales. The business name change will recognize the expanded scope of Latos' work.

Thoughts on America:
We need to work together to make the USA the great country it once was. Each person needs to do what they can to accomplish this.
