Mystic Hickory Syrup™ is your optimum choice for all-natural, high quality Turkeywoods Farm™ hickory syrup products with no add-on preservatives.
Turkeywoods Farm™ is located in Groton, CT, adjacent to the seaport town of Mystic and near the coast of the Long Island Sound. The farm is primarily wooded, with mixed hardwood trees consisting mainly of Carya ovata shagbark hickory mixed with red and white oaks, maple, black birch, ash, black walnut, and a few dogwoods. A seasonal brook runs through the property and drains into a large vernal pool. The pool is a water source for a wide variety of wildlife including deer, fox, coyotes, skunks, mink, fisher, raccoons, possums, squirrels, etc. The primary product of the farm, Mystic Hickory Syrup™, is produced from the 60 or more hickory trees on the property. Trees are not harmed, cut or damaged in the syrup making process.

These were the words most often used to describe Turkeywoods Farm™ 's gourmet Mystic Hickory Shagbark Syrup at the Olde Mistick Village Garlic Festival in Mystic, Connecticut in September 2010 where the syrup made its big debut. This distinctive and unique syrup is prepared using our successful seven-step process from the bark of the shagbark hickory tree. The all-natural syrup is similar in compositionto maple syrup, consisting mainly of sucrose and water, but the taste is extraordinarily unique.Mystic Hickory Shagbark or Hickory Nut Syrup can be used on pancakes and waffles, on vanilla ice cream, in oatmeal, and makes an excellent glaze for ham and other meats. One of our favorite ways to enjoy the shagbark syrup is to drizzle it over grilled wild striped bass or salmon. Thoughts on America:
Our polititians are responsible for allowing the selling off of America to foreign countries who in return exploit cheap labor and deliver low quality products (i.e. junk). It's time for Americans to support the USA and demand that our politicians do the same by providing incentives for companies to stay in this country. We need to get our jobs and manufacturing base back, and one way to do this is to seek out and demand products that are proudly "Made in the USA." Our politicians need to wake up and do the same. |
